AI & Robotics

Sep 8, 2024

In a significant move to align with the National Education Policy 2020, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will introduce artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics as formal subjects for Classes XI and XII, starting from the 2025-26 academic year. The reform is part of an effort to integrate AI and coding from the elementary level, aiming to prepare over 3 million students for a tech-driven future.

Six Key Benefits of this Reform:

Familiarity with Emerging Technologies

Students will be introduced to AI and robotics, preparing them for careers in rapidly advancing fields like automation, data science, and machine learning.

Enhancing Problem-Solving Abilities

By engaging with AI and robotics, students will sharpen their critical and creative thinking, essential for solving complex problems across disciplines.

Fostering Innovation and Creativity

Robotics projects encourage innovation by giving students the freedom to explore ideas and develop practical solutions, nurturing creativity crucial for any profession.

Personalized Learning Experiences

AI-driven tools offer personalized learning opportunities, allowing students to progress at their own pace and cater to their individual learning styles.

Collaboration and Teamwork

Many projects in AI and robotics involve group work, promoting collaboration and teamwork—skills that are vital for success in the workplace.

Preparing for a Digital Future

Learning AI and robotics will enable students to navigate a digital world where such technologies are pivotal, ensuring they are future-ready for the fast-evolving tech landscape.

This forward-thinking initiative ensures that Indian students are not only familiar with emerging technologies but are also well-equipped to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
